The Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation introduced a forumn on February 22, 2018 to coenside with the annual campaign entitled “Hockey Is Everyone”. The direction of this forumn was to provide a decision on awareness and activites so that all individuals regardless of race, colour, religion, national origin, gender identification, age, sexual orientiation, socio-economic status and abilities can either play or watch hockey.
In this forumn, Oilers brought a panel of individuals showcasing their knowledge and diversification within the sport of hockey. These individuals ranged from Jujhar Khaira (current Oilers forward and Hockey Is For Everyone Ambassador) and Randy Boissonnault (Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre). Included in this six individuals panel, was Edmonton Sled Hockey Club’s President Drew MacRae
This was quite the honour for our organzation to be apart of this conversation and showcase how we can not only improve our community, but hopefully show others the support and passion we hold for this lovely sport called hockey which includes sledge hockey.
Watch for our Club President, Drew MacRae, as he is going to drop the puck at tonight’s Edmonton Oilers game!
He is there, with other advocates, to support inclusion and diversity in our wonderful sport of hockey.
